Oh what a morning! I woke up in a horrible mood and really did not want to go run a race. Ask my hubby, I was a just little onry this morning (poor guy he puts up with alot!).

But anyways I ran to the race start, passed Dave Holt on the way and ran some with him before the race. I did 4.18 miles to warmup and the whole time I am thinking "how in the world am I going to run any faster than what I am going right now!" which was around an 8min/mile. My legs were so tired and felt trashed. Started the race, it was a double out and back-it was a challenging course mentally and physically. It was fairly flat with some some rollers on the trail and it was pretty warm. My garmin ended up measuring long, along with everyone elses. Measured 6.43 mi's. I defintely did not push myself as hard as i could have. I had no other girls around me and I lost motivation and my legs were jello. I am kinda embarressed of my time but its my own fault for not being tougher out there. It was fun to see Logan, Steve, Clyde and Bill helping with the race. It was definetely stranger to not see them running in the race. Thank you for all your help with the race guys and for not letting us get lost on the course!

Here are my splits:

1.6:38

2. 6:52

3. 6:48

4. 6:54

5.7:08 (got too comfy here)

6: 6:49

.43 was 2:51 @6:40 pace.

avg pace was 6:51

Ran 1.59 cool down with Dustin, was planning on running home but my husband came to the finish and I gave in a got a ride home.

Great job! It is hard to race in a bad mood, I now that is what I did today as well. But it is always satisfying when you finish and 1st for that matter.

Great Job! You did fantastic! Way to get a win!

You didn't taper for the race, you wanted a good workout, and you got one. Assuming the race was long, you ran an average 6:50 pace for almost 6.5 miles, so that is a great tempo workout. That mile 5 is always a hard one for me, but you didn't slow down too much. Good job Marcie!

Congrats on the win!

I felt the same way as you during the race... hard to focus. Good job anyway.

MarcieJJJJ - a win is a win, 300 commando points. You could have packed it in, you did not.

Good job today, with not much competition. I plan on being there Tuesday morning, but if I don't show up then you'll know I lost the fight with the pillow.
