So wasnt able to run today because of how dumb I am.... So my  eye has been bothering for about 2 weeks now and I was not able to figure it out, I tried switching contacts, my medicated eye drops, taking my contacts out and nothing was helping. Well last night I finally figured it out, I had a contact stuck up high in my eye, I had put in a new pair about 2 weeks ago and did not remove the other one!!!!  My eye was so sore this morning I could not get my contact in let alone hardly keep it open. So I missed my run today:( I hope I can get out later but it looks unlikely as of now. BTW my eye is starting feel much better and I NEED Lasik!!!

Oh my goodness that mad my eyes water just reading it. The things we do when we are tired.

From wildbull on Thu, Apr 10, 2008 at 11:11:23

Lasik is awesome procedure. easy and quick from what i hear. I don;t see ya much any more! Schedules are so differrent. Are you running the 10 k this weekend.

From Andy on Thu, Apr 10, 2008 at 11:21:17

I've done that before. Sometimes I hate contacts.

From Dustin on Thu, Apr 10, 2008 at 11:33:58

I just switched contacts to the focus day and night and they seem to be working pretty good for me.

How has the training been going for you? I have a dumb calf injury that has been slowing me down.

From Andrea on Thu, Apr 10, 2008 at 13:59:06

YIKES!! I've done that before too. And don'tcha just hate when your contacts get foggy you run in the wind? It would be so nice to get Lasik -- no more touching your eyeballs. Hope your eye has a fast and full recovery! :o)

Also, I see on your short-term running goals that you're planning to run the WBR. Are you already running on a team this year? I'm putting together an all-female competitive team for this year's WBR. I've already registered the team; now I just need to find the talent. Paul Peterson suggested I contact you to see if you're interested.

If you're interested, please let me know. You can reach me any of the following ways:

1. my blog spot (andrea.fastrunningblog.com)

2. cell phone: 801-633-5059

3. email: andrearmartinez@yahoo.com

Thus far, we have 6 good female runners who are committed to the team; now, we just need to find 6 more. We have a reputable coach who is thrilled to be working with some great talent on our team. We hope you can join us. :o)

Wildbull- I know its been awhile, I need to come to club but it seems like something always comes up. I will come on sat one of these days soon. thanks for always checkin on me and commenting.

Dustin-

Its ok, its hard right now with mike being injured and my friend is still not running. Its hard to find girls to go the distance, speed and early in the morning with me. But injury wise I am feeling good. Just havent been pushing myself like i should. I hope your calf gets better soon!!

Andrea-

Thanks for your offer! I am already on a team (non-competitve but the funnest girls in the world!) So I will have to pass but I hope your teams rocks!!!

From Andrea on Thu, Apr 10, 2008 at 15:28:11

Have an absolute blast with your WBR team, too!! I'm a little jealous that you ladies will be having so much fun. :o)

See ya out there on the road (and we can commiserate about our contact/Lasik woes).

From Jody on Thu, Apr 10, 2008 at 18:53:07

I am so sorry!!! eekk! Tell Garrett "Lasik Now" Hope everything is going well for you both!

From cal on Thu, Apr 10, 2008 at 19:07:44

what do you mean, non-competitive?

From Christi on Thu, Apr 10, 2008 at 21:18:14

Oh My! I've worn contacts for 24 yrs. so I can totally relate to eye problems! I need Lasik, but I'm a wuss. (and one doc. told me I may be TOO blind!) Ah well... Hey Andrea, Marcie if you know of anyone looking for a couple girls for WBR, I'm interested & I have a friend who is too. We were going to put together a team, but found out its sold out. We are slower than you gals, like 8-8:30 min. miles. in long distance races. Anyway- if you hear of any WBR teams desperate for people, let me know!

From Christi on Thu, Apr 10, 2008 at 21:19:30

Andrea- obviously you're team is looking for fast gals, so I'm not pressuring you- just wondering if you've heard of anyone else looking for runners...

From MarcieJ on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 00:55:50

Cal-what i mean is I dont think will have a spreadsheet with what our splits should be for each leg and if I walk all of "RAGNAR" (i dont even know if i have that leg again) that i wont feel guilty:)It will be nice to meet you and actually have a connection there, I hope you did not take offense to the "non competitive" !

From Cal on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 10:06:18

just kidding Marcie. that was one of the funnest running events I've ever been in, and it had 'zero' to do with trying to win

But, I do think we have a chance at taking the Corporate Mixed division though... :)

From Craig on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 13:28:55

Christi-

I'm organizing another non-competitive mixed team in conjunction with Andrea's team. I'll post the details on your blog...

From Sasha Pachev on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 13:33:15

Marcie - what do you think about letting Christi run on your team in your place, and you joining the competitive team instead?

From MarcieJ on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 13:45:41

Sorry Sasha no can do. I committed to this team last year and they are some of my very best friends. This is one where I pick FUN over trying to win!
