Not my best feeling run today, a few ugly miles and some bad acid reflux/major heartburn. Wanted to run some of these miles a little bit faster but I am just glad to get my 20 in. Ran with the club.

avg pace 7:20

I think when you do over 20 miles there is no such thing as ugly ones! No fun to have the heartburn thing going while running though! Hopefully that is a one time thing for you!

7:20 pace for a 20 miler - that is way impressive. I would have stomach issues too if I attempted that. It sounds like the perfect workout if you think about it: You ran not far from marathon pace for the whole thing, faster for 10 miles, and simultaneously worked out some major pain in the workout. It is perfect practice for the issues you may face in the marathon and you did great working through them. I wish you lived closer and could push me through a long workout like that.

Michelle, I so wish I could train with you, you could really teach me alot! Thanks for the encouragement! Congrats again on your run, you are really are amazing!

Kim I sure hope its a one time thing too, it was weird. I had the heartburn for about 2 hours after running too. Not fun!

From Andy on Sat, Aug 09, 2008 at 19:31:25

That is a great pace for a 20+ miler.

Marcie, you know you are doing something right, when you feel crappy and still hold that pace. Keep working! Great run today.

Marcie you amaze me! I went through acid reflux last week. It is the worst. thats why i have a hard time eating on race days, im always scared of the "sasha effect" I cannot drop trowel in 5 seconds and continue running. Im blown away at your pace for a long run. Ive been doing what Steve Hooper talked to me about putting a little tempo in my long runs. Its easier when your alone so you dont irritate your buddies. Was it blistering hot!?
