After yesterdays run my hamstring tightned up pretty good, this morning when I got up to go run it was still pretty tight. Decided I would let it get warmed up throughout the day and some good stretching and then go tonight with the club and just take it easy. I will play it by ear though, if its still pretty tight tonight then I may just let it rest til tomorrow morning .

pm: Went out with the running club after work, hamstring felt pretty good most of the way, got a little tight along with my quad but eased up, lots of stretching tonight and tomorrow. I had hard time just finding a spot where I felt comfortable, had a little side stitch most of the way, had to drop back, couldnt keep up with most of the group plus wanted to take it easy too. Thank goodness for Dustin he ran the last couple miles with me and told me his whole life story to keep mind off of running! Thanks Dustin-you have a great life story!

I think the run may have been a little shy of 7 but I will round up today!

This would be a good rest day to get yourself ready for Painter's, especially if you are as tight as you say. Then just do a shorter easy run tomorrow to keep the legs fresh and then kick butt Saturday.

Good luck at the race!

Good plan, I got your number and will call you later.

From wildbull on Thu, Jan 17, 2008 at 13:23:10

Take it real easy. cold weather can play havic with tight muscles. drink lots of fluid. may even just do some light cross training! I think the run tonight will be real light! Maybe i can keep up? Are you going for 135:00 at painters? I think you can do better then that! But it is going to be cold.

Enjoy your day of rest. You have prepared so well for this race and will do absolutely wonderful!

THanks Jeff, Josse, Bill and Andee for helping me feel ok about resting and the good luck wishes!

Bill-I dont know how I will do on Sat,I hope for at least 1:30 and anything under would just be bonus, I will take it very light tonight. See ya then hopefully.

Hey Marcie- Thanks for your encouragement! Baby that hamstring until Sat. Sorry to hear its bugging! You are gonna fly Saturday- can't wait to see your time!! (no pressure- heh heh...)

From Jody on Thu, Jan 17, 2008 at 20:56:58

Great job tonight! Take it easy tomorrow and have a great time on Saturday. You will do awesome!

My hamstring bugged me for several weeks before St. George. The good thing about races is your aches and pains tend to not bug you as much in them as the week before. Good job taking it easy. We need to take it easy tomorrow so our horses are ready for Painters. This is going to be fun!

From Mike Warren on Thu, Jan 17, 2008 at 21:55:50

You did Awesome tonight! You are like a storm, Ya know, there is always the calm before the storm. The forcast for Painters looks like a category 7 Hurricane!

From Bethany on Thu, Jan 17, 2008 at 21:56:01

I'm glad your hamstring cooperated for your run tonight. Hope it is as easy going on Sat! Im so excited for you and am trying my hardest not to live vicariously through everyone else. Go get em!

From Wildbull on Fri, Jan 18, 2008 at 10:31:42

You were the smarted runner out there tonight. While every one did there push it runs. you held back. your race is going to go well. Good luck. I will be cheering for you!

It looks like Ted (ArmyRunner) will be pacing us for at least the first 6 miles. That is such a coup! It should help alot. This should be fun!

From MarcieJ on Fri, Jan 18, 2008 at 10:47:10

Thanks everyone, Mike you are funny!

I need all the pacing help I can get! Hopefully I can just hang with, we will see though. Michelle you are going to rock it tomorrow!
